Medicine School

Dear Students of Medicine,

Before you decide which Medicine School to choose for your studies, you should consider a few factors.

One very important factor to consider is the credit system of the Medicine School.

For example, if you fail any exam subject  in any Medicine School in Hungary or the Chech Republic you will be made to repeat the year. You can not transfer to the following year any exam subject (credits) from the previous year or years. Yes, you will be made to repeat the year if you fail any exam and if you fail an exam a second time, you will be expelled from the university for ever.

So it is fair to say that the credit system in medical schools in Hungary or the Czech Republic is strict.

In the schools of medicine and dentistry in Romania though, you are allowed to transfer certain credits which are equivalent to ONE exam subject to the following year.

However, if you transfer one exam subject to the following year in Medicine School, you must pass it otherwise, you will be made to repeat the year in Romanian schools of medicine as well if you do not pass it.

In the schools of medicine and dentistry in Bulgaria also, you are allowed to transfer certain credits which are equivalent to ONE exam subject to the following year.

However, if you transfer one exam subject to the following year in Medicine School, you must pass it otherwise, you will be made to repeat the year in Bulgarian schools of medicine and dentistry as well if you do not pass it.

And in the schools of medicine and dentistry in Slovakia except for Comenius University of medicine and dentistry, you are allowed to transfer certain credits which are equivalent to ONE exam subject to the following year.

However, if you transfer one exam subject to the following year in Medicine School, you must pass it otherwise, you will be made to repeat the year in Jessenius University of medicine and Safarik University of medicine and dentistry as well if you do not pass it.

On the other hand, in Comenius University Medicine School, there is a tricky credit system which you must consider before enroling in the school of medicine and dentistry there.

If you transfer an exam subject to the following year and you fail it, you will be expelled and placed back in the SECOND year to start all over again.

So, if you have reached 3rd, 4th, 5th or even 6th year and you have transfered an exam subject to the following year and you do not manage to pass it, you will be expelled to the second year to start all over again.

This means that once you are expelled from Comenius University, school of medicine and dentistry, the university will treat you as a transfer student and will recognise your first 50 credits ONLY.

That means Comenius University of medicine and dentistry will recognise one year of your studies ONLY.
