The Medical University of Athens has been operating since 1837 and has had an active presence in the events of the country and internationally.
The Medical University of Athens opens a new page in its history, founding its first English-language undergraduate program. The program that the foreign students will attend, will be exactly the same as the one followed by the Greek students. This is exactly the academic and research work that has led the Medical University of Athens among the first 150 medical schools internationally. At the same time, from data collected through the Alumni Network of the Medical School, its graduates who are looking for work abroad, find a 100% position.
The degree obtained from the Medical University of Athens requires the attendance of at least 12 teaching semesters, of which the first five include pre-clinical courses and exercises, the next four clinical courses and exercises, and the last three concern all-day clinical training in the main clinical specialties. In total, the program has 48 compulsory courses and 12 electives. Foreign students must complete a total of 360 credits of the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
“The School of Medicine is currently ranked among the top 150 medical schools in the world, and in fact in a better position than 2/3 of the American medical schools. The scientific performance of the last years is mainly due to the high quality of the scientific publications of the teaching-research staff of the Medical School. For 2020, the Medical University of Athens has achieved very important distinctions in six of the most important international university rankings. The university clinics cover 40% of the clinical work of the public health system (NSS) in Attica (5,000,000), which guarantees excellent clinical education. Also, in many international research programs, the faculty members of Medicine participate, while their publications in international scientific journals have a high index of repercussions and many heterogeneous references.
Today, the University has six departments and are the following: Basic Medical Sciences, Pathology, Clinical Laboratory, Surgery, Maternal-Child Health, Social Medicine – Psychiatry and Neurology, while there are 18 Rare Expertise Centers.

DURATION OF STUDY AND TUITION FEES:
The duration of study for medicine at the Medical University of Athens is 6 years and tuition is 13,000 Euros per year paid in two installments.
ENTRANCE EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS:
The applicants wishing to acquire a degree in Medicine must successfully pass their admittance multiple choice test in Chemistry and Biology, for which we fully prepare students to ensure 100% success.
